The Last Days Of Summer Music Festival 25.07.08
Get ready for the last music festival of
the summer! Held at Stowe Country Park, Buckingham, The Last
Days of Summer will prove to be a day out you won't forget.
Last Days Of Summer happens on August bank holiday Monday
25th August, it's being held at Stowe Country House, nr Northampton
- the first time an event of this type has been held there.
Eight years of touring has established Supergrass as one of
the most highly regarded and accomplished live bands in the
country- and they will headline the event. Richard Ashcroft
is set to play his only UK solo set this summer at the Last
Days Of Summer which will also bring you Athlete, The Rascals
and Fun Lovin' Criminals among others - there are more acts
yet to be announced.
Event spokesperson Ciaran Kennedy said: "The
Last Days of Summer Festival is one of the music calendar's
coolest new dates which brings together, on one stage for
one day, a brilliant, international line-up to one of the
most beautiful parts of the country. It is the first time
Stowe House has agreed to stage this type of event and we've
worked hard to deliver a line-up you'd normally only see
at the really big festivals. The Last Days of Summer will
allow friends to sit and chill out, grab a beer and sandwich
at the bar and food village and enjoy for the last time in
2008, a superb British festival."

Press Release 11.09.07
Many thanks for all your recent messages
to this site and calls to the Testimonial office.
If you would like to get the latest news
from Ben, please go to Ben’s website at www.ben-cohen.co.uk
We have had a few questions about the on-going
activities of the Testimonial Year. In response to these, it
may help to outline the purposes of our year.
We have two main ones; the first is to celebrate
the career and extraordinary personal qualities of a player,
in this case Ben Cohen, and secondly, to raise money both for
the player and the numerous charities and good causes that
we have chosen to support.
With the events that we have held
to date, the overwhelming feedback from guests suggests that
both of these objectives have been achieved. And there is a
clear message of support for Ben’s Testimonial year.
We understand the disappointment of Northampton
Saints supporters, following recent media reports about Ben,
a sentiment which is shared by the Testimonial Committee, all
of whom are also long-standing season ticket holders or corporate
sponsors.
However, the Testimonial year is an opportunity
to celebrate Ben’s achievements and qualities over a
long period which include 14 seasons as a Saintsman, as a member
of the World Cup winning team, for a player who has received
57 caps and scored 32 tries for England (the second highest
ever try scorer for England) as well as someone who bounced
back from a family tragedy to do all of this.
There are more Testimonial events to come
during the 2007/08 season which we’re sure you’ll
enjoy. There’s something for everyone and we’ll
be publishing detailed itineraries and dates on this web site
as soon as they are available.
Many thanks for your continued support and
we very much look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming
events.
Best wishes
David Foster
Chairman

Billingsgate Dinner 21.06.07
The 21st June 2007 saw the third dinner for
Ben Cohen's Testimonial Year. The venue was Old Billingsgate,
London. Hosted by Ben Shephard, the star studded evening was
a great success. Appearances from Richard Ashcroft, Geoff Hurst,
Martin Peters, Gordon Banks, Kieran Bracken, Martin Johnson
and Jeffrey Archer, to name just a few, joined for another
evening of anecdotes and laughter.

Saints Dinner 02 -03/05/07
After some seriously hard work from all the
committee, the opening testimonial dinners at Frankilin Gardens
- Northampton were a roaring success. All our special sporting
stars were on great form during the extra time interviews and
the general feedback of the evenings concept was excellent.
Many thanks to all that came and raised money for our chosen
charities.
We hope to see you again at our planned future events.

Supporting
Air
Ambulance 14.03.07
The Ben Cohen Testimonial Committee have
chosen to The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance
Charity.
About the Our Charity.....
Our service is the most advanced voluntary Air Ambulance
in the UK utilizing the Agusta 109 Helicopter, the fastest
available, and staffed with a crew of Doctors and Paramedics
equipped with the latest intensive care facilities on board.
What that actually means is that far more
lives are saved by our ability to treat at the scene rather
than simply transport to hospital as most Air Ambulances do.
Since our launch in 2003, we have become the UK’s busiest
Air Ambulance by attending over 4,400 calls in that short time.
Being the most advanced service also means it is one of the
most expensive requiring a sum of 1.4million each year to operate.
This entire sum must be raised by voluntary donations as there
is no Government or National Lottery funding available.
The good people of Northampton and surrounding areas have continually
raised what they can and this helps keep us flying as we are.
However, we do want to expand our service. We want to be the
first in the UK to operate 24 hours per day and we want a second
helicopter based in the southern part of the region to cut
our response times even further. We really appreciate Ben support
and wish him the very best in the year ahead.
If you would like to make a difference and
become a life supporter, or wish to find out about more about
ways you can support us, call 02476 639043 www.wnaa.co.uk
